Stuff you will need for PIG

Not very much. This is very much a group interested in image making and not so much about gear. An SLR is nice but certainly not required. A tripod maybe. Most people end up getting a reflector - see eBay. We used to say that film was fine, but I suspect that we have not had a film user for some time. You will certainly need to have good and frequent email access, and should be able to both send and receive images electronically. Similarly it is practically a requirement that you check the website fairly frequently.

Time and Effort

Attending all of the events can be quite hard work. PIG 2010 is designed to be quite demanding and to represent a moderate commitment both for getting to events and for processing of images after a shoot. The groups and models that PIG works with participate on the understanding that they will receive a selection of images from each of the photographers at each shoot. The expectation is that images will be provided to models within 2 weeks of the shoot. Sometimes there is a tighter time line.

If you are unable to meet the requirement to provide images on time then you should consider whether you should attend a shoot.

Use of images taken during PIG events

Most PIG events are arranged on the understanding that the models will receive a selection of images for free in exchange for their time. There is also an agreement between PIG photographers and models that images will not be used for any purpose other than PIG, unless the model is approached by the photographer to give a model release for another purpose.
