Notice of Motion - Changes to Constitution ------------------------------------------- Due to the increase in club memberships during the last 12 months (approx. 30%) it has become apparent we require extra positions to be created on the club management team to handle the extra workload. Our constitution is in need of updating to accommodate this growth because we are entering into a very busy time ahead. Now is the appropriate time to ask members to consider the need to create new committee positions within the club so that we can be assured of getting the best out of all the new concepts planned for next financial year. Our AGM is next month and so this is the most appropriate meeting of the year for members to consider and make the decision on the Notices of Motion. Either to keep our constitution as it is now or to adopt these minor, but crucially important amendments that will keep the club moving forward, allowing it to grow in accordance with the growth rate of our membership. Two notices of motion are being proposed to correspond with our AGM next month and I am asking members to consider both of these and vote accordingly next month. Thirty days notice is hereby given and these notices will also be published on our website and then voted on at the AGM in August. Notice of Motion - Officers of the Club --------------------------------------- Section 22 (2) be deleted and an additional position of Vice President be created so there will be two Vice Presidents. Section 22 (1) be amended to read: (a) A President (b) A Vice President – Immediate Past President (c) A Vice President (d) A Treasurer (e) A Secretary ** Moved Margaret Morgan Notice of Motion - Section 23 (1) (b) be amended to read -------------------------------------------------------- Six (6) other members or additional numbers as required in any one year. ** Moved Margaret Morgan
Calling all nature photographers!Forestry Tasmania are proud to launch the inaugural 2010 'Moods of the Forest' photographic competition. This competition will encourage Tasmanians to experience Tasmania's vibrant state forests and capture their experience on film.Tasmania's state forests are managed for multiple uses to provide the community with as many benefits as possible. These benefits include a range of employment opportunities, from beekeepers, to forestry contractors, to firewood merchants. There is also a variety of recreational opportunities available in state forests such as walking trails, four-wheel driving, shooting, fishing and infrastructure for barbecues and picnics. The competition will encourage Tasmanians to engage with nature and capture the spirit of state forests on film by photographing these opportunities and activities and great prizes are on offer also. The entry fee includes admission to the Tahune AirWalk so there is no better time to visit this beautiful part of our world. The competition will be run from 1 July - 1 August 2010 and for further details about the competition, please go to http://adventureforests.com.au/tahune/2010-moods-of-the-forest-photographic-competition I would be very grateful if you could pass on this information to your club members. If you have any queries at all please don’t hesitate to contact either myself or the Forest and Heritage Centre on 1300 720 507.
